Bach in Baltimore opens its new season with two stirring Baroque favorites, showcasing its own choir and orchestra. Bach’s Cantata 72: Alles nur nach Gottes Willen (Everything according to God’s will alone), may feel familiar. The opening chorus is also transcribed into Bach’s beloved Gloria of his Mass in G minor, considered one of the greatest works in musical history. Handel’s Concerto Grosso in B flat major will also dazzle with oboes, a bassoon, strings, and continuo. The evening will conclude with a rousing soprano and alto duet from Bach’s Cantata 78, Wir eilen mit schwachen.
